April’s client of the month is MuLondon, an organic skin care specialist with an emphasis on the ethical side of business. We had a chat with founder Boris, to learn a bit more about the company.

Tell us a bit about MuLondon!

MuLondon started in 2008 as a small company with big goals; to create a range of mild and effective products for people with sensitive skin. We also had the vision of being honest, transparent and sustainable with our ingredients by ensuring all our products cruelty-free and organic.

I developed eczema and psoriasis many years ago. Instead of using steroid creams, I started making my own lotions and balms based on old, proven recipes. After successfully testing the formulas on myself and my friends, an idea was born to create my own range of skin care products.

What makes your skin care lines stand out?

As a company we’re dedicated to creating scents that are organic and natural to soothe your skin. Our ranges are crafted using pure and natural essential oils and herbal extracts that divinely scent and gently preserve our certified organic ingredients.

Some of the essences from our range include marigold, frankincense and myrrh and rose, rosehip and rosemary.

The range is certified as organic by The Soil Association, cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny and is registered vegan by The Vegan Society.

Do you have a favourite piece from your collections?

I love them all, but I would have to choose the Lavender Moisturiser for its versatility. This is a gentle yet powerful moisturising cream with shea and coconut butters, jojoba oil, rosemary antioxidant and lavender essential oil – to relax your mind and soothe your skin.

It’s perfect for everyday use and is suitable on all skin types. It’s also great as a travel companion to help with sunburn, insect bites and headaches. You can use this as both a protective day cream and a super-moisturising night cream!

Why is it important for people to consider the ethics behind their skincare?

I believe that if we pay attention to what we eat, we should also consider what we put on our skin and what we use around the home. Buying products that work and are made ethically and sustainably is becoming easier. The choices we make do matter.

We are proud do donate 1% of all our sales to environmental non-profits through our membership with 1% for the Planet. By being the first Certified B Corporation skin care company in the UK, MuLondon joins other ethical businesses who make environmental and social performance as important as financial.

We want to contribute to a more balanced, inclusive, accepting and kind world for everyone. Each and every single consumer that makes a conscious effort to make better purchasing choices helps all of us take a step forward.

What do you have planned for MuLondon in the future?
