Introducing Megan, Admin Junior at The Accountancy Partnership!
Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job
Answering clients’ emails. Handling client queries over the phone, and redirecting calls to the relevant people. Opening, scanning and sending client post. Ordering treats for the office, as well as other office necessities such as computers and stationary. Carrying out onboarding calls to help new clients get started with us.
What is a typical working day like for you?
When I come in the first thing I do is work through my emails. I will either be on the phones in the morning or afternoon. When I am not on the phones I will complete my onboarding calls for clients who have just joined us, as well as working through any post that has arrived. I will continue to work through my emails throughout the day, and when on the phones will be helping with client queries.
What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?
A particular challenge I face in my role is ensuring all clients are receiving the highest quality customer service, as the role is incredibly fast-paced and varied. I make sure I prioritise my workload to make sure this is happening.
What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?
The amount of reference codes and numbers requested in the initial stages be overwhelming for our clients.
How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for them?
Patience is a virtue as they say! Having the ability to listen to clients’ queries and communicate effectively is essential.
What is your favourite part of the job?
The variety offered in the role. No two days are the same and the fact-paced nature of the job means the work days fly by.
What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?
It feels like a solid team, not just in our individual departments but right across the work team.
What skills do you find most useful to do your job?
The ability to multi-task, stay organised and know what to prioritise in your workload.
Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?
My boyfriend lives in Wales so I spend a lot of my time off there, going on days out around North Wales and Chester. I also enjoy spending time with family and trips to my Aunty’s caravan when I have the time to go.
Tell us about your proudest achievement.
My proudest achievement is probably completing my degree during lockdown, whilst also working a full time job alongside my studying. It was hard work but definitely worth it in the end.
How would your colleagues describe you?
The loud ginger one I would imagine.
What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?
I am currently reading It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. I am binge watching Naruto, which I am loving!
Who do you admire, and why?
I admire my Mum and Dad. They were young parents when they had me, especially my Mum, and I know it wasn’t always easy for them, but my brother and me never went without and wouldn’t be the people we are now without their love and guidance.
