We talk to Dylan about his role here at The Accountancy Partnership.

Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job.

Preparation and submission of Self Assessments, limited company accounts, and VAT returns.

What is a typical working day like for you?

I usually start the day answering emails from the night before and dealing with any queries I have. From this, I will then make any necessary adjustments to accounts/returns. Besides this, I will then make a start on any new accounts/returns as well as taking client calls when they need me.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

Dealing with completely different industries from job to job. No client is ever the same.

What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?

Definitely preparing their records accurately in order for us to complete the work. If left too late, this can become quite stressful for the client and create confusion.

What is your favourite part of the job?

With the variety of clients we have, you are constantly learning and dealing with different types of industries.

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

The relaxed but professional atmosphere, it creates a better working environment in my opinion.

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Concentration, 100%. If you are not totally focused you can miss important details and cause errors.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

The pub! I enjoy meeting up with mates in our local pub, you can’t beat it, especially on a sunny day in the beer garden!

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

Managing my football team to our first ever win a few seasons ago. We’ve never been the most technical team, but the bond between the lads is up there with any other team and certainly helped us win that game 4-0!

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

I’m currently watching Ozark on Netflix, a great series!

Who do you admire, and why?

Jurgen Klopp. There isn’t a manager more suited for Liverpool. How one man can bring together the fans and a city like he has done is unbelievable. He also brought us our first top division title in 30 years and of course, a 6th Champions League!

What question would you really like to answer, and what’s the answer?!

Q. Who did a better job, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (Man Utd) or Rafa Benitez (Everton)?

A. This is a tough one, both did great jobs! But I’d have to say Agent Rafa (definitely if Everton get relegated – fingers crossed!)
