This month we spoke to Charlotte Hughes, Accounts Junior at The Accountancy Partnership!

Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job.

To build client relationships, preparing accounts, tax and VAT returns and answering client queries.

What is a typical working day like for you?

My typical working day consist of answering clients emails, completing accounts and VAT Returns and being prepared to help others.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

Incomplete records can cause challenges, as this can mean we need to pause work until we know we have a complete set of accurate records.

What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?

Keeping up to date with a years’ worth of records can be challenging.

How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for them?

Clear communication is crucial with clients as it allows us to understand each other and solve issues effectively.

What is your favourite part of the job?

The variety of tasks I do day to day. I like that no day looks the same, as it keeps me on my toes.

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

Having the most amazing colleagues! They are all so supportive and also know how to have a good laugh.

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Clear communication, good listening skills and the ability to organise my workload efficiently, are skills I find most useful in my job as these achieve optimal results.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

My favourite place is anywhere when I am out walking with my dog, Onyx.

Saving lives in my previous job!

How would your colleagues describe you?

My colleagues would describe me as funny, bubbly and kind.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

At the moment I am binge watching Outerbanks, for the third time.

Who do you admire and why?

My gorgeous mum, because she is the kindest woman ever and no matter what life throws at her she still pushes through with a smile on her face.
