What does IR35 mean for contractors?

IR35 is the name of legislation which sets out to remove the tax benefits of ‘disguised employees’ who work as contractors employed by their own limited company, rather than directly through an employer.

Compliance with IR35 rules is essential for contractors, though the rules can be confusing and difficult to understand.

Download our guide to IR35 to learn more about what rules you need to be aware of, and what they mean for you.

Do the IR35 rules apply to me?

IR35 is also known as ‘off payroll working’ because it addresses workers who would normally be taken on as employees if they weren’t supplying their services via their own limited company.
