What is your job title?

Sales Executive.

Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job.

First impressions count and our goal is to ensure that potential clients are knowledgeable about TAP as a business, confident in their decision once we provide them a quotation and guarantee that the client receives a high-quality service right away.

What is a typical working day like for you?

Choosing the right playlist for the journey into work sets the tone for the day, so that is priority number one, followed by a cup of tea as I respond to emails, call potential clients who have submitted quotes overnight and finally follow up with scheduled call backs/chase again.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

Clients may need or require more information than a sales executive can offer, as we are not qualified accountants, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t speak to our team of accountants when it comes to those minor enquiries to put the client’s mind at ease. For those more complex enquiries we arrange paid consultations with the accountants, so they get the correct and best advice before deciding to join us whilst also getting an insight to the quality of service they would receive when they become a client of ours.

What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?

The biggest challenges faced by our clients understanding what is required from them when it comes to submitting to HMRC and Companies House whether they are a sole trader or limited company, so it’s very important that we can assure them that with the support of their accountant they will gain knowledge of this and that all filing will be taken care of.

How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for them?

I find being patient and understanding is the best approach as everyone who approaches us ranges from various industries, business sizes, etc., so assuring them that we are the right fit for them is very important, and that their business is in good hands.

What is your favourite part of the job?

Everyone you speak to on a day-to-day basis is not the same and you learn something different from somebody each time – there is certainly a market for things you wouldn’t even realise existed.

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

It would definitely be the team, from the training on day one up until now the support has been amazing and I feel like I really fit in and am comfortable. Especially with work being a place you spend a lot of your time, it’s important to be surrounded by a good people.

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

I think being confident and knowledgeable play a huge part giving a client peace of mind that they’re in good hands, and will be supported as their business grows.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

I will 100% end up in the gym on my day off, but nothing beats the feeling of waking up and spending the next two hours in bed with no responsibilities for the day.

How would your colleagues describe you?

I was described as the labrador from Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

My partner has me watching Gossip Girl with her and I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve become hooked.

Who do you admire, and why?

My dog, Dave. He sees nothing but sunshine and rainbows without a care in the world.

What question would you really like to answer, and what’s the answer?!

What colour was the dress? It was clearly blue and black, so can we stop saying it was gold.
