Give an overview of the duties, functions, and responsibilities of your job.

I am one of the Accounts Managers so my main responsibility it ensuring the team is happy, workload is balanced, and our clients are getting the best possible service.

I also manage my own portfolio of clients, this includes answering any queries clients have, helping them with tax efficiency, completing accounts, tax returns, and vat returns for them.

What is a typical working day like for you?

I start my day by checking my emails from clients/my team and responding to them. I then look at any urgent deadlines approaching, whether this is accounts or vat returns, and personal tax returns.

However no day is the same here and different days bring different challenges/rewards.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

Tax legislation regularly changes, which can make our jobs challenging at times and we have to ensure we are up to date at all times to ensure we are giving our clients the correct information.

What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?

Changes within the economy/tax changes. Depending on the type of changes, this can largely effect how they run their business, what staff they can afford, and who they can sell their products/services to.

How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for them?

Ensuring they are aware of the changes in plenty of time so they can plan ahead.

What is your favourite part of the job?

Working with my team to ensure they are happy, which then ensures are clients are happy.

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

We are one big team; everyone is so friendly here and will always help each other. Plus, we get so many treats… not great for dieting though!

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Organisational skills. Working in accounts, we constantly have various deadlines and need to be able to manage them effectively to ensure everything is submitted on time.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

The countryside – I love a mountain, waterfall, or anywhere with nice views

Tell us about your proudest achievement

It’s got to be becoming a mum. Proudest and happiest moment, and I doubt anything will trump that.

How would your colleagues describe you?

Approachable, friendly, and weird. All based on me eating my pizza with a knife and fork, and enjoying the rain. Not all at the same time.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

The Housemaid – I’m not one for thrillers but this has me hooked.

Who do you admire, and why?

One of my friends, Kath. She seems to have got the balance of life right, good mum, good wife, good friend, and enjoys life to the fullest. It’s not an easy balance to achieve.

What question would you really like to answer, and what’s the answer?!

Should spaghetti bolognese be in a tin? If it’s Heinz, mostly certainly yes!
