We bark to Percy about his role as Canine Admin at The Accountancy Partnership.

Give an overview of the duties, functions, and responsibilities of your job.

I take my job very seriously. My role includes:

• Door protection, to ensure there are no trespassers
• Scrounging food, and watching all food related tasks
• Being on hand to provide cuddles and strokes for staff members
• Looking cute while I sleep
• Finding the best spot to lie in the sun on nice days

What is a typical working day like for you?

My day starts by doing the rounds, saying good morning to everyone. I usually spend from 9 – 12 watching the door intensely to ensure no strangers enter, and so I can keep watch for the smoothie guy (who gives me a treat).

From 12-2 I patrol the break room, before spending the afternoon asleep.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

• Being hungry all the time and trying to bribe people into giving me food.
• Not getting enough strokes

What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?

The staff are my clients – they can seem very busy and preoccupied with work the majority of the time. It must be a challenge to have to concentrate on work when I am here.

How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for them?

No matter how busy people may seem, I always remind them I’m here for strokes and like to think I have a very loud voice to get that message across. I also have a very cute face which makes everyone smile.

What is your favourite part of the job?

The attention and getting unexpected treats (even though I should be on a diet)

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

The people – I get lots of fuss and attention. It’s also very laid back and I can sleep whenever I want. I’m very lucky that I get to come to work with Mum!

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Looking cute, being very vocal when I want something, not taking no for an answer. I’m also the Master Sleeper.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

My ultimate favourite place in the world is the beach – it’s my favourite walk to do with my Mum.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

This has to be overcoming spinal surgery and back leg paralysis 4 years ago. It was touch and go for a time – I wasn’t allowed out my cage for months and had to go in a dog pram for walks.

I overcame the odds though and I’m now back to full mobility (I just have to go in a backpack on particularly long walks as I get more tired now that I’m older)

Adorable, demanding, protective, and a real character.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

I enjoy watching other dogs on the TV

Who do you admire, and why?

My Mum – she treats me like a King!
