Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job.

Completing annual accounts, Self Assessments, and VAT returns for clients as well as answering any queries they may have. I also provide support to users on Pandle, answering any software questions through phone calls, consultations and the live chat.

What is a typical working day like for you?

Normally, I would begin by answering any emails from clients to ensure that they have a response as soon as possible. I would then look at my to do list with the jobs that have an approaching deadline taking priority.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

Clients asking tricky queries that I haven’t come across before. Thankfully the team are always approachable and on hand to help.

What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?

Understanding what are and what are not allowable business expenses as some clients may not have the knowledge of the conditions that must be met to be allowable.

How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for them?

There are helpful guides I can send them that explain allowable expenses in further detail. I also speak with clients regarding the conditions that must be met regarding the expenses.

What is your favourite part of the job?

Being able to support clients with their business and helping to answer any questions they have that are troubling them.

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

Being able to manage my own workload and feeling as though I can ask the team any questions I have.

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Being able to use different formulas and tables on Excel which speed up the process when working on clients’ accounts.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

The Marine Lake in West Kirby, I must’ve walked around it a thousand times in lockdown.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

Probably getting a 1st in my University degree especially since my whole first year was during the pandemic.

How would you colleagues describe you?

Brandon and Ben call me Darkhorse so I’ll have to go with that.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

I’m currently watching The Big Bang Theory for about the tenth time and reading Ronnie O’Sullivan’s autobiography.

Who do you admire, and why?

Jordan Henderson. Gave me one of the best moments of my life with him lifting the champions league for Liverpool (Just need to ignore him moving to Saudi).
