This month we spoke to Chloe Davies, Accounts Semi-Senior at The Accountancy Partnership!

What is your job title?

I’m an Accounts Semi-Senior.

Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job.

Preparing accounts, tax returns, and helping clients with their queries.

What is a typical working day like for you?

In the morning I answer any emails I may have received overnight, follow up on administrative duties and hold my initial calls. I usually dedicate my afternoons to preparing limited company accounts, Company Tax Returns, VAT returns and Self Assessments.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

I always want to make sure that clients’ expectations are met to the best of my ability. Managing my time to ensure that all deadlines are met is essential.

What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?

A lot of my clients have just set up their company, so are new to being a director. When they join us, I’m here to guide them by answering any queries they may have, and to reassure them that they do not need to worry.

How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for them?

I have acquired a lot of knowledge and experience from my colleagues here at The Accountancy Partnership, and have been able to use this to deal with any problems I’ve faced so far.

What is your favourite part of the job?

I enjoy working with a variety of different clients, being able to see how each business works can be intriguing. Alongside this, I like being able to make my clients’ life a bit easier, especially while they are busy running their businesses.

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

Everyone here is so lovely, it is such a welcoming environment and makes me look forward to coming to work every day.

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Time management is an important skill to have, with deadlines and client expectations to meet, ensuring that all responsibilities are met would be a challenge without it.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

I love trying different restaurants around the area, it allows me to spend some quality time with my family and friends.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

I’m proud of achieving a 2:1 in my Accounting and Finance degree and progressing to Semi-Senior within The Accountancy Partnership.

How would your colleagues describe you?

I would like to think that they consider me as a happy, friendly member of the team. I’m always the first person to make light of a stressful situation.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

I’m always re-watching the Harry Potter films, but at the moment I’m watching ‘Drive to Survive’ on Netflix. It’s interesting to see the competitiveness of each of the drivers, both on and off the track.

Who do you admire, and why?

I admire my Mum the most, she raised me on her own and has always pushed me to achieve everything I’ve ever wanted.

What question would you really like to answer, and what’s the answer?!

Is water wet? No! If water can’t be dry, then it can’t be wet!
