Hi Adam, tell us about your business
We provide revision and personal development courses and webinars for healthcare professionals. It includes a CPD-accredited introduction to clinical governance course, a ‘train the clinical teacher’ course, and a CV and NHS job application review service.
We also help candidates prepare for their medical professional exams by providing revision webinars and courses.
What drove you to start your business?
There was a clear gap in the market, particularly for international medical graduates. I was also keen to learn new skills, as doctors are not taught business and accounting skills.
What particular challenges have you encountered starting and running your business?
As very few doctors have business and accounting skills, I lacked a mentor and support. I had to learn how to build a successful business by myself and learn from mistakes I made along the way. Advertising and spreading the word about my services also became very challenging.

Where does The Accountancy Partnership fit in?
I chose TAP because the website is very professional, and the support provided is very high quality. The Pandle bookkeeping software that you provide is also very intuitive.
I have had a lot of help when it comes to dealing with accounting and VAT. Ben, my accountant, has been very supportive, and there have been lots of emails and phone conversations, which helped me overcome a number of challenges.
What do you have planned for your business in the future?
My next task is expanding on my existing website. We’re looking at building a mock exam programme so that candidates can gain a better exam practice experience.
