Hi there! Tell us more about your business?

Our experienced baristas make great coffee using beans from Farnham’s only local coffee roaster, Coffee Gems, beautifully crafted by Ricardo, the Columbian genius! We are the only coffee shop offering this in Farnham.

We also offer great quality bikes at a great price. Our electric bikes really do make hills disappear, which helps make cycling open to all in hilly Farnham.

The revolution is NOW, and cargo bikes are changing the shape of urban transport across the world. Our first electric cargo bike carries up to 3 children, 1 parent and/or shopping up to 150KG total weight, and prices start at £1,750. We’ve named her ‘Carrie’!

The business combines the things we care about; coffee and the environment, buying local wherever possible, and all powered by green energy.

What motivated you to start your business?

Climate change, huge air pollution levels in our town, road congestion, car park congestion, unhealthy people, it’s quicker to cycle than drive… There’s no silver bullet but ebikes come pretty close. And as cycling is fundamentally sociable, people need coffee!

What particular challenges did you have to overcome in setting up your business, and since then?

Cash flow for any new business is difficult but in a pandemic it’s worse. Virtually no timely assistance from the Government was a big problem, so I borrowed money from friends. Finding truly great baristas was a challenge too.

We sell the cheapest cargo bikes in the UK, which can carry an adult and 3 children. We are also planning the Farnham Electric Festival on 12th September 2021, a celebration of electric micro-mobility, with everything from electric skateboard races to off-road unicycles!
