Completing annual accounts, tax returns and VAT returns – as well as dealing with any queries clients may have and offering guidance and support to users on Pandle.
What is a typical working day like for you?
Normally, a day will start by checking through my emails. I will then plan my day accordingly, dealing with any urgent matters and working through any ongoing jobs.
What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?
As I am still studying towards AAT, and we have a diverse client base with a variety of businesses and needs, sometimes a client may have a question about something that I have not yet covered. Fortunately, the rest of the team are always willing to help and offer guidance.
What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?
Especially for clients in their first year, Payments on Account to HMRC can be tricky to understand.
What is your favourite part of the job?
I get great satisfaction upon receiving approval of a job from a client! Once we get to submit the work that we have done for them feels like an achievement and puts their mind at ease.
What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?
The people. I enjoy the atmosphere around the office. Obviously, the free food twice a week is also great.
What skills do you find most useful to do your job?
I think communication is my best asset. I like to try and build a rapport with clients and let them know that I am willing to offer advice and support wherever possible.
Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?
Anfield, best place on the planet to see Mo Salah running riot.
Tell us about your proudest achievement.
Probably getting Glastonbury tickets while on my phone in Tenerife. That’s an absolute nightmare every year.
How would you colleagues describe you?
As a good father (to the office fish).
What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?
It’s kind of cheating, but I listen to Harry Potter audiobooks before bed (I have read them before but Stephen Fry is more entertaining than me).
