Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job.
I prepare annual accounts, corporation tax returns, Self Assessment tax returns and VAT returns for our clients.
What is a typical working day like for you?
My day starts with responding to emails that have been sent in overnight and preparing for any calls I have that day. Then I like to get stuck in to some accounts work and monitor my emails throughout the day.
What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?
Trying to get through to HMRC on behalf of our clients!
What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?
With the ever-changing tax rules and regulations, it must be quite difficult for our clients to keep compliant and understand their tax obligations.
How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for them?
Communication is key in simplifying the complex tax rules in a way everyone can understand and apply to their businesses.
What is your favourite part of the job?
I really enjoy preparing accounts.
