We talk to Georgia Clayton as she explains her role as a Semi-Senior Bookkeeper at The Accountancy Partnership.

Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job.

I complete bookkeeping for clients. This mainly includes entering transactions and invoices.

What is a typical working day like for you?

The first thing I do is have a look at the emails that have come in overnight, and then I like to have a coffee at some point in the morning!

I’ll spend the rest of the day completing bookkeeping and keeping on top of any queries.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

As a trainee, my challenges at the moment are mainly just getting used to new systems. I am also currently studying for my Level 2 Foundation Bookkeeping course, so it is just the challenge of learning something new and picking everything up.

What is your favourite part of the job?

As I’ve only just started training, it gives a sense of achievement each time I’m able to complete a task. I really enjoy being able to learn different things in my role, and the team I work with are a good help.

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

I enjoy the people I work with; they have all been so welcoming. It’s a great atmosphere to work in, the office has a good vibe. The lunches twice a week are great too!

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Being organised – it’s important to be able to keep on top of the tasks as well as my training both in work and outside.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

I love going to the Trafford Centre and shopping with my Mum & Dad. I also love going to Wales for walks with my boyfriend and the dogs, and going to Shippons for food.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

Getting a flight to Australia on my own. My family were already in Sydney waiting for me, and there was a stop in Singapore which added more time to the journey. Being somewhere I had never been before, in a different airport, was scary but I did it – it pushed me out of my comfort zone.

How would your colleagues describe you?

I hope they would describe me as friendly and approachable.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

I love reality TV, so Real Housewives of Beverley Hills, New Jersey, Married at First Sight (Australia though I like the lovely weddings they have there)

We’ve just started The Walking Dead too, which I am enjoying.

I like to read before I go to sleep, but I don’t have a typical author I go for – usually any book I like the cover of!

Who do you admire, and why

My big sister, she is such a hard worker and an amazing mum. My nephew who is only 3 but doesn’t fail to make me smile. My cousin John too, who is more like a brother to me, he is an amazing person and dad.
