Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job.

Emails, phone calls to clients and HMRC, running payrolls, producing payslips and submitting pensions.

What is a typical working day like for you?

Each day I start my morning by making a coffee, and I then work on my emails in the morning and contact HMRC on behalf of my clients. In the afternoon I will run any payrolls that are due, provide payslips and submit any pensions.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

Listening to HMRC hold music for an excruciatingly long time.

How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for clients?

I will often provide detailed reports for the clients to understand what we are submitting, as we deal with clients who have varying levels of experience. This will ensure they comprehend the service we are providing them and how payroll works as some people find it easier to visualise this rather than have me explain it in an email.

What is your favourite part of the job?

I like learning something new each day.

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

The people, I have a really great team that I am thankful to work alongside.

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Competent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, as I use this every day.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

Obtaining a first-class mathematics degree and buying my first house.

How would your colleagues describe you?

(Apparently) I am funny, clever and entertaining.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

I am watching The Agency and Severance!
