We speak to Ronan about his role as Marketing Executive at The Accountancy Partnership.

Give an overview of the duties, functions and responsibilities of your job.

Working in the Marketing team means that no two days are the same!

My main duties range from managing our email marketing software, taking care of our affiliates, creating graphics for our sites, updating site content and working on day-to-day ad hoc projects.

What is a typical working day like for you?

There is no typical working day for me really, which is why I love my role so much!

But if you were to stumble across my desk, you’d likely find me scheduling something in Mailchimp, crafting something in Gravit, or constructing something on our website.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

When proofreading my own work (for the 750th time) it can sometimes feel as though I’m participating in the world’s most complex edition of “spot the difference”.

What is your favourite part of the job?

For me it has to be the team.

After working in numerous roles, it’s extremely refreshing to be able to come to work and feel at home. Everyone is so friendly and there’s always a helping hand nearby. (I also spend at least 10% of my day laughing at some form of office anecdote.)

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

We get looked after so well at TAP I wouldn’t even know where to start!

We’ve got an onsite gym, games room, amazing office and we also get healthy smoothies and catering twice a week – what’s not to love!?

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Definitely my IT skills. Having prior knowledge and experience with a huge variety of software helps me with daily problem solving.

I’m forever grateful to 14-year-old, nerdy pc gamer me.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

I’m obsessed with all things boxing and MMA, so on my days off you’ll likely find me either training, watching or recovering from one of the two sports.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

Winning my boxing debut by a first round stoppage in front of a home crowd.

How would your colleagues describe you?

After asking them, I got: insightful, infectious laugh, astute, tough cookie and as having a great sense of humour.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

I’m currently reading Tyson Fury’s autobiography, 10/10 would recommend.

Who do you admire, and why?

Aside from my parents who are my biggest idols, I’d have to go with Tyson Fury. The man’s attitude to life is simply amazing, his story is inspirational and he’s easily my favourite heavyweight boxer of all time.

Q. What’s the best piece of life advice you’ve ever received?

A. Fear has killed more dreams than failure ever will.
