We talk to Jasmine about her role as an Admin Junior here at The Accountancy Partnership.

Give an overview of the duties, functions, and responsibilities of your job.

It varies from opening post, scanning documents to clients, emails, reassigning clients, processing codes, and beyond to making sure there’s always enough stationery and biscuits!

What is a typical working day like for you?

In the morning I start by going through my emails to clients and then usually around 11 I receive the post which is then opened and sorted into what needs to go to clients or accountants.

In the afternoon I scan the post to clients and send out any post that needs to either go to clients or HMRC. I will then process any codes that have been received, and carry on replying to clients whilst also answering the phones.

What particular challenges do you regularly encounter?

I think the biggest challenge is making sure that my day is planned out properly. The office is always very busy so its super important to know what needs to be done!

What are some of the biggest challenges faced by your clients?

I think the biggest challenge faced by clients is knowing exactly what information/codes they need to send over as there is a lot to send, and it can be overwhelming.

How are you able to use your skills to solve problems for them?

To help solve client’s problems, I like to start at the beginning and find out where the problem started and why. that way I have the whole picture and we can work on correcting things!

What is your favourite part of the job?

My favourite part of the job (apart from the dogs of course) is how there is always something to do. It means our days fly by, and you always leave feeling as though you have achieved something.

What do you like most about working for The Accountancy Partnership?

I like the feeling of being a part of a team. Even though a lot of the work we do is on our own, everyone is always there to support one another.

What skills do you find most useful to do your job?

Organisation definitely! I have to make sure that I have an order to my day so that even when things get super busy, I know I can keep on top of everything.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

My favourite place to visit on my days off would be the beach, I’ve always loved the sea, whether I’m doing water sports or just spending the day relaxing with my friends/family.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

My proudest achievement would be when I completed my training for the Royal Navy. I was only 17 and it was a huge step in becoming who I am today.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

Currently binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy.

Who do you admire, and why?

I admire my Mum, I know it’s an answer that a lot of people would give, but having beaten cancer and gone through the whole thing with a positive attitude and always putting everyone else first, I don’t think there is anyone I could admire more!
