We talk to Jacob McCallow about his role as an Accounts Semi-Senior here at The Accountancy Partnership.

Give an overview of the duties, functions, and responsibilities of your job.

I manage my own portfolio of clients, prepare accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, and give advice on any questions that my clients have.

How are you able to use your skills to solve problems?

I have worked in the accounts industry for just over 5 years, so I have gained quite a lot of experience!

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

My favourite place to visit on my days off is Loggerheads in Mold, which I often go to with my dogs. There is a nice walk from there up to Moel Famau with a pub at the end which you can stop off at for a well-earned pint.

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

My proudest achievement is passing my AAT Level 3. I took a break in my studying due to the pandemic, but I will be continuing onto AAT Level 4 in the near future.

How would your colleagues describe you?

My colleagues would describe me as easy going, chatty and friendly.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

I am currently re-watching Peaky Blinders.

Who do you admire, and why?

The person I admire the most is my Mum. She is always positive about everything and doesn’t let anything stop her from doing what she is committed to.

What question would you really like to answer, and what’s the answer?!

The question I would really like to answer would be ‘Who is the greatest footballer of all time?’ and my answer would be Divock Origi.
