Staff Spotlight: Aimee Billington, Compliance Officer

We talk to Aimee Billington about her role as a Compliance Officer here at The Accountancy Partnership.

Give an overview of the duties, functions, and responsibilities of your job.

My day to day at the minute is very varied, which I love. I am given the opportunity to work with all different departments within TAP to ensure all our work carried out is compliant. I am currently working on a project to put new policies, procedures, and training in place.

How are you able to use your skills to solve problems?

I like to analyse and gather all of the facts first, to make sure that the right decision has been made. Whether that be listening to a client in need, or helping a colleague with a work matter.

Where’s your favourite place to visit on days off?

Not sure you can call it a day off anymore when you have a toddler! You would usually find me at the beach, weather permitting of course. I love to walk along the front with either a cone of ice cream or chips!

Tell us about your proudest achievement.

My son, George. Having a child was probably the hardest thing I’ve done, but definitely the most rewarding. Ask me again when he is waking me up during the night….

How would your colleagues describe you?

Approachable and very easy to chat to.

What are you reading/binge watching at the moment?

At the minute it has to be Selling Sunset on Netflix, I love UK shows too so I usually have The Royle Family, and Gavin & Stacey on repeat.

Who do you admire, and why?

My partner Mike, although his Xbox obsession does drive me insane, he works so hard and is an amazing dad to our son.

What question would you really like to answer, and what’s the answer?!

If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? 100% Pizza!
