According to a report which will be presented to the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership, around 75,000 businesses in the Greater Manchester area will gain from having a new support hub to be launched in November 2011.
The Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub is a collaboration of organisations that will provide support and information to help businesses develop and grow. A planned system for the web and telephones is to be created to enable companies to be directed to the right place when they are in need of help and assistance. There will also be specific guidance available for businesses, which will include; coaching and mentoring, research and development tax relief, ‘Networking for Growth’ events and financial advice.
The network will be made up of several organisations, which will include the Manchester Chamber of Commerce, universities and UL Trade and Investment. The range of organisations that will be involved with the Hub, will all be dedicated to making sure businesses achieve growth. According to the report about the Hub:
“It will act as the focal point for businesses that wish to grow, providing co-ordinated and cohesive growth programmes, business networks, growth groups and links to specialist information, advice and services. The hub is not a single site but a distributed network.”
Eventually, the Business Growth Hub will co-ordinate with Cumbria, Merseyside and Lancashire organisations. The official launch of the Business Growth Hub will be on 17th November 2011, at the Etihad Stadium.
