The UK’s Small Business Saturday campaign is set to return for its 5th year and the campaign bus has hit the trail! Why not get your small business involved?

Shop Local, Shop Small

Founded by American Express, the successful campaign encourages consumers to shop local and shop small, bringing trade to the smaller, independent local business at the heart of their communities.

The Small Business Saturday UK bus has taken to the road once again, promoting the campaign to both consumers and small business owners in advance of the Small Business Saturday, which this year falls on Saturday 2nd December.

Starting from Dundee in Monday 23rd October, with an itinerary that sees it visiting twenty-seven stops before concluding in Brighton on 24th November, the bus will host workshops, mentoring sessions, small business exhibitions and other activities as it tours around the UK.

If you’re interested in boarding the bus, you can find a map of the locations it will visit here.

Get Involved

The Small Business Saturday website suggests several ways you and your small business can get involved in the campaign, including:

Michelle Ovens, director of Small Business Saturday, said: “We have run the phenomenally popular Small Business Saturday bus tour since the campaign launched in the UK in 2013.

“Now it has grown to five weeks, we can reach a huge number of the UK’s small businesses to deliver mentoring, inspiration and much needed optimism to small businesses across the nation.”

She added: “It is open to every individual who can take this moment to support their local businesses, and it is open to public sector to both support and reflect on the huge value small businesses generate.”

You can follow the campaign on Twitter via @SmallBizSatUk #SmallBizSatUK , Instagram Smallbizsatuk or Facebook Small Business Saturday UK.
