Limited companies are one of the most popular business structures in the UK. If you are looking to set up a limited company there are a number of ways this can be done.
The first option is setting up the company yourself through the Companies House website. There is an online web incorporation service available in order to submit the relevant information electronically and there is a small fee to do this. Although Companies House will be able to advise you on the basics of registering your company, they cannot give you detailed, tailored advice on the necessary information you will need for this process, which is why it may be more beneficial to seek professional help when setting up your company. Due to the timescales and complexity of dealing with Companies House directly, this option is rarely used anymore.
This brings us to our next option, using a formation agent to set up your limited company for you. For a slightly larger fee, a formation agent will take care of the whole process for you and deal with all the relevant forms and Companies House on your behalf. It would simply be a case of giving them all your details and information about the company you want to set up and they take care of the rest.
The third option available is using your accountant to form your company. They will usually form this company on your behalf through formation agents that they use on a regular basis. Most accountants will charge a fee for this however; some accountants may include this in your package.
Here at The Accountancy Partnership if a client joins with us and needs a limited company forming we would be happy to take care of it all on their behalf free of charge. If you would like any further help and advice on setting up a limited company please do not hesitate to phone or email us, or alternatively, you can simply use the live chat link available.
