This month’s client of the month is Pro Health PT, the Kent-based personal training provider whose mission it is to get you in shape!
We chatted to operations director, Alaina Tolhurst, to find out more about the company and hear about their exclusive discounts for TAP customers.
What does your role in the company entail?
I do all the running of the business and my role can go from interviewing and vetting potential personal trainers, making sure they are suitably qualified and experienced for our clients, to creating our marketing plans and liaising with potential and existing clients on any queries or issues.
I am also a qualified nutritionist and provide additional support to the trainers and clients in this area.
Tell us about Pro Health PT!
Pro Health PT is a Kent-based personal training provider with health and nutrition at its core.
Our values are to provide professional training, a personal service and a passionate team in order to provide our clients with a tailored, high quality service to meet individual goals.
Whether clients are looking to lose weight, get in shape, or tone up, we’re experienced and qualified to help.
What drove you to start the business?
Two things really. The first was that for years I have been interested in fitness and nutrition and undertaken study in both. I was shocked and disappointed at seeing poor quality service for such a personal service.
I wanted to create an organisation where high quality, tailored personal training is the norm with the client’s needs and convenience being at the centre.
The second was that since I had been commuting to the city for 10 years, working on strategic change projects, I wanted a better work/life balance. I wanted to work for myself knowing all my hard work and successes would be so much more rewarding.
What kind of personal training do you offer?
We offer a range of personal training whether it be for someone looking to get in shape, train for an event or just generally want to be healthier and have a bit of motivation and support to get them there.
We work with people on a one-to-one basis, in pairs or in small groups.
All of our services are mobile, which mean clients don’t need to pay for a gym membership as well like many and our trainers will go to them, whether that’s their home, park or even place of work – it’s all about making it as convenient as possible for the client.
Are there any pieces of advice you find particularly important for those looking to stay fit and healthy?
Staying fit and healthy is not just about exercising, it’s about the whole picture. We need to look after ourselves both physically and mentally. No one thing should be worked on in isolation, which is why we look at both exercise and nutrition as well as the client’s overall health, helping them to make improvements.
Why did you choose The Accountancy Partnership?
Running a business is hard work and time consuming, especially alongside another job! Accountancy has never been my forte and so I made a decision early on to invest in an accountant.
I needed someone who was reliable, experienced but also good value for money and affordable! The Accountancy Partnership was really the only company that ticked all those boxes.
Would you recommend The Accountancy Partnership?
Most definitely – It’s so nice to not be stressing about what to do with my accounts, knowing the experts at The Accountancy Partnership are dealing with it, allowing me to run the business!
What do you have planned for Pro Health PT in the future?
I’m so excited about the future of Pro Health PT as we are relatively new and so have a lot of room to grow.
This year we will be launching some bespoke packages including ‘corporate team building’ sessions and programmes for companies looking to improve the health and wellbeing of their staff, or who just want to do something a little different for that annual team building day!
