Each month we’ll be recognising our most interesting and talented clients and thanking them for choosing The Accountancy Partnership by showcasing their company as our Client of the Month.
Our first client who we’d like to thank is Divine Company – a specialist dance and circus performance group. We spoke to Divine Company’s founder Jennifer Gould who told us a bit more about what the company does.
Tell us a little bit about Divine Company!
We produce unique, high end dance and circus performances for a range of venues and clients. We’re the largest company of this kind in the UK and have relationships with over 200 world class artists, from members of the sporting elite to dancers from The Royal Ballet.
Our artists have performed for countless festivals and street events, night clubs, promotional and marketing campaigns and a generous bouquet of deeply fabulous private functions.
How did the idea for founding Divine Company come about?
I founded the company out of a love of circus and dance. Back in 2000 there were a number of events companies combining circus and theatre, but dance was still underrepresented, so I decided it was time for that to change!
What performances are you most proud of?
We’ve performed for a range of clients including; Buckingham Palace, the Olympics Committee, Glastonbury Festival, the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, MTV, The Millennium Dome and the O2 Arena.
We have also performed the Brits and the BAFTAs, where we worked alongside artists Fat Boy Slim, Britney Spears and Escala.
If I had to pick a favourite though it would have to be performing on catwalk stilts with Vivienne Westwood – we had an amazing time performing and it was definitely a bit of a highlight!
Where was the most interesting location for a performance?
We’ve performed in all sorts of places – it’s too difficult to pick just one! In swimming pools, on a submerged stage in a lake, on staircases, in shop windows – you name it we’ve done it.
Why did you join The Accountancy Partnership?
I found that being in the care of a large and efficient accountancy firm helped me run a tight ship!
Where can we see your performances?
Our events are largely private so if you want to see us in action the best way is to make a booking directly through the event. Or, if you’d like to book us yourselves you can contact us through our website!
What are Divine Company’s plans for the future?
We have a few projects lines up for 2016 which we’re really excited about. This year we will be making a number of short films with Hungarian cinematographer Viktor Ciagas.
We are also planning a collaboration with a London based digital video mapping company, creating some cutting edge work with our Olympic gymnasts.
