Hi Oliver! Tell us about your business

ReThread is an online consignment store where you can buy and sell high quality second-hand clothes easily.

What drove you to start the business?

To incentivise more people to think second-hand first and go circular with their fashion choices.
 

What particular challenges did you have to overcome in setting up your business, and since then?

We launched the business two months before the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. After initially having to press pause, we set about making the business model totally online and remote. This included the launch of our free postal ‘Selling Kits’, allowing people to easily clear-out their wardrobes and send their clothes in for sale.

Have we helped you overcome any challenges, and if so, how?

Yes, our brilliant accountant Lisa has helped me navigate the more complex accounting practices of the consignment business model. The integration with Pandle has also worked really well for us. I find the whole platform really easy to use and it saves us a lot of time – allowing us to focus more on growth.

What do you have planned for your business in the future?

Scaling our operational platform to be able to process the surge in supply we are seeing. That means investment in technology, staff and warehouse space.
