If you’re feeling fit, healthy and ready for spring, we have the perfect client of the month for you. We caught up with Mo Islam, chief executive of the UK Dodgeball Association, to find out more about what they do and how you can get involved.

Tell us about the UK Dodgeball Association (UKDBA)

The UK Dodgeball Association is the officially recognised national governing body of dodgeball, a title we’ve held since 2012. The association is responsible for promoting, organising and developing dodgeball in the UK from ‘grass roots’ to the elite level.

What drove you to start UKDBA?

I believe that there are many health and social benefits to playing sport and every person should be afforded the opportunity to do so. Everyone from children as young as pre-school up to adults of retirement age and beyond can play dodgeball. It is very simple to learn and everyone has the ability to get involved as part of a team.

What kind of support do you offer those looking to join?

Through education and training, support and expertise we aim to ensure there is an excellent participation environment for players at schools, colleges, universities and clubs in the community. We believe that dodgeball is an extremely inclusive sport and that it creates an opportunity for all sporting abilities to be involved.
